Lesson From Dad XV ! / Two things.

Two things never last in a person’s life , His youth and his strength .

Two things benefit a person immensely ,gentleness  and being humble.

Two things elevate the worthiness of a person kindness and being helpful.

Two things safe guard a person ,truthfulness towards  himself and the others.

I’ve often thought about this, Jalal. I’ve often thought it must be difficult, especially for the man who has depended (all his life) upon his physical strength, to then find his strength waning as he ages.
Your description of his ‘inner life’ is powerful. Without those attributes, the aging process would indeed be a battle; both for men and for women.

The past generations were so much more humble. Coming from war torn countries and the Great Depression, they appreciated the small things. This is lovely, reminds me of my father. He taught us to be honest, even if we were frightened of the consequences. Because if you are true to yourself everything will be transparent. One lie can lead to another and it diminishes your soul
