A Little Discipline ! / Culture Or Reality ? (Post # 576)

Today our culture with enthusiasm says.

“you can be happy without discipline ,

Do whatever you feel like doing and you will be happy.”

But reality says.”you won’t be happy without discipline.”

Discipline is the foundation for a happy existence.

Both messages promise happiness.

Its up to the individual to choose the path ,

He wants to travel his life’s journey.

Considering my conservative upbringing I see the difference in today’s cultures and know what you mean. Well said Jalal.

When we believe we can have everything we desire and deserve; these things then have no valve and our achievements become routine and tedious. There is no harm in expressing ones enthusiasm, it is just that we need to realise that enthusiasm alone is not an achievement; it’s just part of the journey which takes us forward to the places where we are, and in time it will carry us to our futures. Without disciplining our enthusiasm we may not appreciate all that the present offers us and fully appreciate the riches it has to offer us.
Obviously I found this a thought provoking post Jamal, it sparked my enthusiasm but now I must discipline myself and stop writing. 🙂

  5. Whatever path we choose in this earthly life Jalal we are answerable to God our Creator for, if we reject Jesus Christ we will not have Eternal life with Him, if our discipline is forced and does not come from our Love for God, we will not know His freedom.

    Blessings – Anne.
